We are excited to announce the 3rd Doomer Optimism Campout — formerly called The Machine and (Human)Nature — at the Wagon Box in Story WY over the weekend of June 27-29, 2025.

For those who haven't attended, here is a little write up about the event last year done by Suzy Weiss at the Free Press:
We are sending this invite out first to our close collaborators, and then to our readers before opening to the general public, and you are welcome to share the invitation to your immediate, trusted networks. The main tenor of the event is one of pluralism and tolerance to be able to discuss openly with one another, so keep that in mind when extending the invite.
We have some really amazing speakers lined up this time including Paul Kingsnorth, Aris Roussinos, Lee Fang, Chris Martenson, and more.
This will be a campout, with some limited options for housing, which will open up later in 2025, likely early March. So expect things to be somewhat rustic! Breakfasts and dinners are included, there is a restaurant and bar on site, and a beautiful stream running through the property for morning cold plunges. This event is VERY family friendly and many of us plan to bring our whole families. Past attendees have said this event feels like a family reunion and we very much agree!
On a practical note: once you click to buy tickets it automatically populates both family and individual tickets. You'll need to remove and adjust accordingly for your party. To be especially pro-natalist the family ticket including any number of children is set at a discounted price. If anyone needs a further discount (reserved for low income, small farmers and homesteaders), write to us here.
We hope to see you there! Any questions direct them to one of the email addresses listed above.
